Millennium rallies to victory

AULANDER – Millennium Styles snatched victory from the jaws of defeat July 28 in the Aulander Youth League.

After leading 2-1 heading into the sixth inning, Millennium saw Golden Peanut score four times to take a 5-2 edge.

Millennium Styles answered, however, with four runs of their own to secure a 6-5 victory.

Jessica Mobley was the winning pitcher, striking out seven in six innings of play. Brittany Hoggard suffered the loss while striking out eight.

Millennium Styles was led by Mandy Bazemore who was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Frances Eure also had two hits and scored once.

Kelsie Conner and Jessie Harrell each went 1-for-3 for Millennium.

Golden Peanut was led by Bridget Babb, who was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Kelly Cummings and Candice Terry each added a 1-for-3 night.

Liverman’s Metal Recycling scored seven times in the fourth frame to secure a 13-9 victory.

Matt Judge was the winning pitcher, going two innings and striking out four. Michael Scott suffered the loss, but struck out one.

Liverman’s was paced by Clay Barmer who was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Brian Harrell was 2-for-2 with a homerun and one run scored.

Ricky’s Corner Shop was led by Cody Cobb and Nick Adams, each of whom was 1-for-1.
