AHOSKIE – It’s a dream come true for auto mechanics.

Whether one tinkers with vehicles under a shade tree or owns a private garage, they need to be at Roanoke-Chowan Community College at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2. There, a wide assortment of mechanical tools are waiting to go home with the highest bidder.

Fueled by plans to turn RCCC’s now closed automotive repair program into a partnership with Hertford County Schools for an Early College High School program, the community college has a huge inventory of mechanical tools and other related equipment on the auction block.

Items included in Saturday’s auction are a wheel balancing machine, lift, air compressor and diesel injection testers. Those items are in addition to a huge inventory of auto repair tools, testing equipment and tool chests.

Rich & Rich Auctioneers will preside over the event. Items must be purchased by cash or check. No credit cards are accepted.
