Ahoskie ‘Stars’ shine bright

AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie (9- and 10-year-old) All Stars are shinning bright with two wins.

Monday night the team played Chocowinity, winning by a score of 9-0.

David Watford started the game with a great bunt and things got better as they played.

Jarrett Harrell and Dendre pitching for Ahoskie closed the scoring of Chocowinity along with the defense.

The bats were also good along with great base running. The top hitters were Tyler Jones, Jarrett Harrell and Chris Wilkins.

The RBI ‘s were also a key factors J.J. Gatlin, Evan Simmon, and Landson Molone add to hits to make nine run win.

The All-Stars went back Tuesday night worried that the rain would keep the game from startingwith a 15-minute delay Ahoskie rolled on to win their second game against Williamston.

Williamston has always been the one to beat and they did. It was a game to remember.

The team never gave up. They came from a 7-4 deficit to win it in the bottom of the sixth inning with a Jarrett Harrell base hit and Chris Wilkins had the hit to score the winning run to home plate

Jarrett Harrell and Tyler Jones were the pitchers of the game. Harrell, Jones and Wilkins continued to keep those bats strong.

The coaches for the All-Stars are Jerry Castelloe, Ronald Gatling, Justin Freeman and Charles Simmons.
