Schueck tops Ellen#8217;s

AHOSKIE – Schueck Steel used a three-run second inning to come back and defeat Ellen’s Hair Affair in an Ahoskie Recreation Department Junior Girl’s game Monday.

Schueck scored twice in the first, three times in the second and once in the third to secure the victory. Ellen’s took an early lead with four runs in the first inning, but only scored one more time in the contest.

Emily Grace and Gina Revelle led Schueck. Each was 2-for-2 with a triple. Brittany Evans was 1-for-2 with a homerun while Megan White was 1-for-2.

Heather Joyner was the winning pitcher.

Sandi Goolsby, Stephanie Dudley and Sarah Lassiter were each 2-for-2 for Ellen’s. Goolsby and Dudley each had a homerun.

WOW n 5, Pizza Inn n 0

WOW scored two runs in the first inning and then added one each in the third, fourth and fifth to defeat Pizza Inn 5-0 Monday evening.

Tyler Jones was the offensive leader for WOW with a 2-for-2 night that included a homerun. David Watford was 1-for-1 with a homerun and Tyler Pope was 2-for-2 with a triple.

Lions n 9, Home Life Care n 3

Lions improved to 8-2 on the year in Little League with a 9-3 win over Home Life Care here Tuesday night.

Landon Larabee was the winning pitcher, going five innings with seven strikeouts. Tyler Hoggard tossed one inning, striking out two.

The Lions were led offensively by Matthew Judge, who was 4-for-4 with three doubles, and Hoggard, who was 3-for-4 with a double. Larabee and Matt Evans also had hits for Lions.

Home Life Care was paced by Eric Ortiz with two hits, including a homerun, and Justin Krueger with two hits. Cedric Gilliam had one base hit.

Savin & Hill n 17, Golden Skillet n 8

Savin & Hill scored in five of six innings to roll to a 17-8 win over Golden Skillet Tuesday night.

Tyler Burden struck out eight in the winning cause for Savin & Hill. He also had a 2-for-5 night at the plate to help lead his team offensively.

Also helping on the offensive end were Casey Howard and Mitchell Godwin, each of who was 2-for-5 with a homerun. Jake Kreiger was 3-for-5 for Savin & Hill.

Golden Skillet was paced by Chase Colson and Bobby Merritt, each of whom was 1-for-3. Marvin Harrell, Cody Cobb, Cade Larabee and Austin Britton each had a hit.

Stoney Creek n 11, Athlete’s Foot n 1

Stoney Creek scored in every inning to defeat Athlete’s Foot 11-1 recently.

Paul Tilley was the winning pitcher, striking out six in the contest, while Bryan Merritt also saw time on the mound and struck out two.

Tucker Warren was 3-for-3 and Quincy Godwin was 2-for-2 to pace Stoney Creek while Brandon Terry, Bobby Merritt and Ackerman Grace were each 2-for-3.
