Stoney Creek edges Lions

AHOSKIE – Stoney Creek edged Lions 9-7 here Friday in the Ahoskie Recreation Department league.

Tucker Warren got the pitching victory for Stoney Creek as he struck out four in the victory.

Stoney Creek trailed 7-4 after four innings, but scored once in the fifth and four times in the sixth to take the win.

Quincy Godwin (3-for-3) Bobby Merritt (3-for-4) led Stoney Creek offensively during the contest. Warren, Brandon Terry and Ackerman Grace each had two hits while Bryan Merritt and Tyquan Davis had one hit each.

Landon Larabee was 3-for-4 for Lions including a double while Tyler Hoggard and Jefferson Kilshimer added two hits each. One of Hoggard’s hits was a homerun.

Clay Barmer, Matthew Judge, Matt Evans and Mary-Joe Harrell each had one hit.

Golden Skillet n 12, Savin & Hill n 4

Golden Skillet scored in every inning as they rolled to a 12-4 win over Savin & Hill Friday night.

Miles Harrell took the victory on the mound while striking out 10.

Offensively, Marvin Harrell was the leader for Golden Skillet as he was 3-for-4 for the night. Austin Britton and Brian Outlaw added two hits each. Miles Harrell, Cody Cobb, Jordan Harrell, Neal Brinkley and Chase Colson also had hits.

Leading Savin & Hill was Casey Howard with a 2-for-3 night. Tyler Burden, Scott Lowe and Brandon Nichols had one hit each.
