RICH SQUARE – An early morning incident Monday has police here searching for a missing woman.

Rich Square Police Chief Bo Roye said he and deputies from the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on Stanford Street at approximately 2:45 a.m. Monday.

According to Roye, Ricky Harris of the residence called 911 to report his home had been broken into, he had been stabbed and his girlfriend had been kidnapped.

Harris was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he was listed in serious, but stable condition.

Nekia Ann Hunter, 27, who was allegedly kidnapped from the residence is still missing, according to Roye. She is described as a 5’-6” black female who weighs approximately 130 pounds. She has prescription glasses and dark, shoulder-length hair.

The suspect is described only as a heavy-set black male.

Hunter’s black 1995 Acura Integra is also missing. The North Carolina registration for the vehicle is VSL 1379.

Roye said the investigation is continuing. He has brought in the State Bureau of Investigation and the United States Marshal’s Service.

“We would appreciate anyone calling with any information they may have,” Roye said.
