Ahoskie men charged

AHOSKIE – Two Ahoskie men are free on bond following their arrests on drug charges here March 21.

Ahoskie Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh reported the arrests Nicko Rondae Smith, 27 of 600 North Mitchell Street, and Joshua Monta Smith, 23 of 606 North Mitchell Street.

N. Smith, released after posting a $90,000 secured bond, stands charged with three felonies n one count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver crack cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling as a place to store or sell illegal drugs. He was also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Released after posting a $32,500 secured bond, J. Smith was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver crack cocaine and a pair of misdemeanors n possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of marijuana.

Chief Fitzhugh said the arrests were the result of an ongoing investigation of drug activity in the 600 block of North Mitchell Street. APD Lt. Jeremy Roberts headed-up that investigation.
