MURFREESBORO – Enrollment at Chowan University continues to rise each semester.

The latest numbers have been released and once again Chowan’s enrollment has reached a milestone.

The 2008 spring enrollment totals 795 (FTE n Full Time Equivalent) with total enrollment of 900, which makes it the largest spring enrollment in nearly 20 years. This also makes it the best enrollment as a senior institution, even prior to closing for World War II.

Statistically, the 2008 spring enrollment is eight percent higher than the same time last year and 46 percent higher than the 1993 spring enrollment in which the institution regained senior status (1992-93).

Admissions counselors are already working diligently on recruiting students for the 2008-09 academic year. The Admissions Office will be holding several events for interested students and will even be available for visitors on many Saturday’s.

A new option for the adult learner is Chowan’s Adult Degree Completion program on the campus of Halifax Community College. Registration for the Summer/Fall 2008 session is underway with summer classes beginning May 19 and fall classes beginning August 25.
