PENDLETON – The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for two armed suspects after a home invasion here left a teen injured by a shotgun.

According to Northampton County Sheriff Wardie Vincent, the incident occurred Saturday night on Vaughan Creek Road near Pendleton.

Vincent said at approximately 10:30 p.m. two male subjects brandishing shotguns approached the residence and attempted to kick in a door. When that failed the men shot out the locking mechanism and continued to enter the home.

Once inside, the men restrained a female, who was in the home alone, by holding a shot gun in her face.

“The suspects then proceeded to ransack and take items from the home,” said Vincent.

Among the items taken was an undetermined amount of cash, an Xbox 360, clothing, NFL ball caps, Timberland boots, cell phone and several watches.

Vincent said jewelry in excess of $5,000 was also taken from the home, including a strand of white pearls, gold rings and earrings.

He added many of the items stolen were Christmas gifts.

Vincent said at some point while the crime was occurring, the victim’s teenage son and his friend, a 17-year-old male, entered the home.

The teens confronted the suspects and a single shot was fired. The shotgun blast struck the 17-year-old, injuring him in the face and neck area.

Vincent said the teen’s injuries were not life threatening.

The suspects then fled the scene in a burgundy colored four-door Honda Accord with a loud muffler. The year of the make is estimated to be anywhere from 1989 to 1992.

Vincent said the suspects are described as black males, one man standing approximately six feet tall and weighing 185 pounds and the other man standing five feet, six inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.

The sheriff added their ages are estimated as early 20s, but they could be younger or older as their faces were completely covered, with exception of their eyes, by hoods and bandanas.

Vincent said the suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
