The Eagles then scored seven unanswered points, four coming after Edwards stole the ball and took it in for the layup, as Northeast regained the lead, 16-13.

Baskets by Lawrence’s Sarah Gillam and Kathryn Taylor sandwiched an Edwards three as Northeast clung to a two-point lead (19-17) at the half.

Lacy Pfeiffer hit a Northeast basket to start the third but Street sank two foul shots and took the ball coast-to-coast, tying the game at 21.

After a Burgess foul shot Lawrence took the lead on Kathryn Gilbert’s bucket. LeAnn Barnes drove the lane for a deuce and Burgess sank two free throws to end the quarter with Northeast holding the lead, 26-23.

Lawrence chipped away at the lead and pulled within five points (38-33) after consecutive baskets by Street.

Free throws from Edwards and Barnes in the waning seconds sealed the win.
