WINDSOR – It has been determined through further investigation that a robbery suspect police officials originally thought was a black male is actually a white male.

The suspect is still at large for the armed robbery of the Duck Thru #6 convenience store on US 17 North.

Initially, witnesses described the gunman as a white male, but police officials said from looking at the video surveillance of the incident it appeared at first that the suspect was a black male.

However, it now appears that it was indeed a white male who robbed the store.

&uot;It was just a bad monitor that we were looking at it on at first, now we’ve got it (the tape) on a better one and it’s obvious that it’s a white male,&uot; Windsor Police Chief Rodney Hoggard stated.

Thus far, there have been no leads in the investigation, but police are asking the community for assistance.

If anyone has any information regarding the robbery, they are urged to contact the Windsor Police Department at 794-3111 or the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office at 794-5330.
