Police seek armed robber

WINDSOR – Police are on the lookout for a suspect wanted for the armed robbery of a convenience store here in town.

Duck Thru #6, located on US 17 N./South King Street on the outskirts of Windsor, was robbed at gunpoint late Saturday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., a young male allegedly entered the store wearing a black ski mask and demanded money of the cashier.

According to Windsor Police Chief Rodney Hoggard, it was determined from looking at the surveillance video that the suspect is a black male thought to be in his early twenties.

&uot;They (witnesses) originally thought it was a white male, but from looking at the video it was a black male. He pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money; she gave him what was in the drawer and he left,&uot; Hoggard stated.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken during the robbery.

Hoggard revealed that the young man was wearing a black coat and was thought to have been riding a bicycle. He is around 5’6&uot; tall.

The cashier was in the store with one other employee and a customer, but no one was harmed during the incident.
