AHOSKIE n Betty Jane Parker, 53, died October 24, 2007 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, Va.

A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Apostolic Holiness Church of Faith, Sunbury, by Bishop Robert Knight. Burial will be in the Dildy family Cemetery, Gates. Stallings Funeral Chapel, Gatesville, is in charge.

Survivors include one daughter, Katrina Johnson of Cofield; four sons, Tonyo A. Parker of Ahoskie, Samuel J. Parker and Cornelius Parker, both of Raleigh and Larry D. Parker if Norfolk; her mother, Essie Mae Grandberry; one brother, Marion L. Walton of Suffolk; and six grandchildren.

Norma J. Hawk

CORAPEAKE n Norma Jean Hawk, 55, died October 23, 2007 at Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.

A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday at New Middle Swamp Missionary Baptist Church, Corapeake, by the Rev. Dr. Claude Odom. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Stallings Funeral Chapel, Gatesville, is in charge.

Survivors include her husband, Hurley Hawk; one daughter, Jackie Reid of Charlottesville, Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Louise J. Hoggard

HAMPTON, Va. – Louise J. Hoggard, 77, a native of Bertie County, died October 23, 2007.

Mrs. Hoggard was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Hampton and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Hoggard; daughters, Jewel Covey, Ann Tanner, and Edna Chittum, all of Newport News; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, June J. Johnson; and brother, Fred Jernigan.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Grace Baptist Church, 1423 Big Bethel Road, Hampton VA, by Pastor David Luethy. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the services at a reception at the church.
