JACKSON – A Seaboard man is facing a felony drug charge and his mother was also arrested, according to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

Northampton County Sheriff’s Captain George Reed said Carol Jean Moody and Anthony Tyrone Moody were arrested on Wednesday after a search warrant was served on both of the suspects’ residences.

Along with the Sheriff’s Office, both Seaboard Police Chief Fernard Henry and Jackson Police Chief John Young were involved in the searches.

Cocaine and $10,743 in cash were among the items seized from the suspects’ homes.

Reed said scales, home made crack pipes, plastic bags with contraband in them and pill bottles were also confiscated.

Upon search of the home of Anthony Moody located at 307 Faison Street in Seaboard, Reed said two minors were present including a 14-year-old and a 10 month old.

Anthony Moody, 36, was charged with felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reed said the Northampton County Department of Social Services will be contacted in regard to the minor children.

Anthony Moody was taken to the Northampton County Jail and place under a $25,000 bond.

Carol Moody, 55, of 305 Faison Street in Seaboard, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was taken to Northampton County Jail and placed on a $12,000 secured bond.

“We thank the community for their support,” said Reed referring to citizens complaints that helped law enforcement officers develop their investigation.

In all, eight officers and a K-9 were involved in the searches and arrests, including Reed, Henry, Young, Detective Lieutenant Brenda Burnette, Detective Sergeant Greg Coleson, Deputy Jimmy Pair, Deputy William Smith and Deputy Beaufort White and K-9 Bliss.
