WOODLAND – The Woodland Police Department is still on the lookout for suspects in a drive-by shooting here.

According Woodland Police Chief Don Ryan, the incident happened Monday around 9:15 p.m. in the Woodland Housing Project on Persimmon Street.

Ryan said there were calls reporting several cars circling the block and citizens were worried “they were about to do something.”

Ryan said 10 to 12 shots were fired and six vehicles were believed to be involved.

The vehicles were last seen on US 258 North heading toward Murfreesboro.

Ryan said no one was injured in the shooting and no homes were struck by the bullets, though three vehicles were damaged.

A maroon over white Lincoln was identified, but was later ruled out by Ryan as being involved in the shooting.

He said the owner of the car had been in the area buying cigarettes from a friend and sped away when the shots were fired.

Ryan urges those who have information about the shooting to contact him at (252) 587-7161.
