WINDSOR – A two-car collision left one man seriously injured near here Sunday night.

The accident occurred on US 17, about 6.5 miles north of Windsor, right where the four-lane begins.

Louis Carroll White, 66, of Windsor, was airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital with suspected serious injuries.

White, driving a 1994 Ford pickup, apparently pulled out in front of another vehicle while turning onto US 17 from RP 1503 (Davis Road).

The driver of the other vehicle, Gracie King Lee, 58, of Elizabeth City, hit him in the driver’s side of the truck.

Lee was driving a 2005 Chevrolet passenger car.

She was listed in stable condition at Bertie Memorial Hospital.

White was later treated and released at Pitt, according to information given out by the hospital’s public relations department.

Trooper A. Genao with the North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, but no charges have yet been filed.
