AHOSKIE – Two Hertford County men were arrested on drug charges here Saturday night.

Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan reported that Joshua Woodson Hall, 22, of 911 St. John-Millennium Road and 20-year-old Christopher Clay Futrell of 138 Bruce Farmer Road in Millennium were arrested following a traffic stop initiated by Ahoskie Police Officer Randy Skinner.

“Officer Skinner called for assistance from my office and Lt. Will Liverman responded to that call,” Sheriff Vaughan said.

Hall was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Hertford County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

Additionally, Vaughan said Hall was wanted on a fugitive warrant in Southampton County, Va. That led to him being held without bond on that warrant.

Futrell, a passenger in Hall’s vehicle, was taken to jail under a $1,000 bond on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hall’s first court appearance is scheduled for today (Tuesday). Futrell will answer to his charge in court on Aug. 17.
