Daniel F. Holloway

ROCKY MOUNT – Daniel F Holloway, 80, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007.

He was born September 5, 1926 in Wilkes County to the late John Horte Holloway and Florence Royal Holloway.

He is preceded in death by a sister Texie Holloway formally of Trap Hill NC; brothers Clyde Holloway formally of Raleigh, and Sam Holloway formally of Elkin, NC.

Mr. Holloway was owner operator of Holloway’s Appliance for over twenty years in Ahoskie, NC, and a member of Arlington Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Ernestine Pritchard Holloway of Rocky Mount, two daughters Connette Bradley of Wilmington, NC, Dannette and husband Chris Christman of Smithfield, NC; grand daughter Dana Christman of Raleigh; sisters

Edna Schwegman of Richmond, IN, Mae Lawson of Elkin, NC, brother, John Holloway of Richmond, IN,

along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Arlington Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Melba D. Nowell

FRANKLIN, Va. – Melba Harrell Drake Nowell, 77, a native of Tarboro, died May 16, 2007. She was the widow of her first husband, James R. Drake.

Mrs. Nowell was a member of Hunterdale Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbur L. Nowell of Franklin; one daughter, Cynthia D. Mitchell of Eure; two sons, James R. Drake of Suffolk and Charles E. Drake, both of Smithfield; a stepdaughter, Joan Grizzard of Biloxi, Miss.; a stepson, Ray Nowell of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Addie Belle Raley of Maynardsville, Tenn.; one brother, Clifton Harrell of Richmond; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hunterdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Vinson Jr. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms. Wright Funeral Home is in charge. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hunterdale Baptist Church Building Fund, 23099 Sedley Road, Franklin. VA 23851. Zala Lynch

ROCKY MOUNT n Zala Yah Isia Lynch, infant, died May 14, 2007 at Nash General Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. H.D. Pope Funeral Home is in charge.

Jean Greene

ROCKY MOUNT n Jean Greene, 66, died May 17, 2007 at Nash General Hospital.

Ida B. Wright

WATERBURY, CONN. n Ida B. Wright, 74, a native of Hertford County, died May 16, 2007 at Waterbury Hospital.

A viewing will be held at Diamond Grove Church at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday followed by a graveside service at Diamond Grove Church Cemetery, Franklin at 1 p.m. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, is in charge.

Survivors include her husband, William H. Wright of Waterbury; eight daughters, Barbara B. Hoskie of Franklin, Gloria L. Hoskie, Earlene Liverman, Mary Lois Liverman and Ellen J. Jordan, all of Waterbury, Linda l. Beumer of Augusta, Ga., Janet K. Marshall and Queen Ester Jordan, both of Norfolk; three sons, Booker T. Jordan, Louis K. Jordan and David W. Wright, all of Waterbury; one sister, Clara Garret of Murfreesboro; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

John Sessoms

HARRELLSVILLE — John Sessoms, died May 16, 2007 at his residence.

Sessoms was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

A funeral will be conducted at 12 p.m. Monday at Mt. Pleasant

Baptist Church by the Rev. William Ashe. Burial will be in the Morris family cemetery. Hunter’s Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Sessoms of Windsor; five daughters, Mary Privott of Harrellsville, Jessie Gatling and Katie Daughtrey, both of Ahoskie, Maggie Williams of Cofield and Patricia Peoples of Raleigh; a brother, Horace Sessoms of Colerain; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
