Gates wreck injures two

GATES – An accident here Wednesday afternoon left two people hospitalized at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

According to a report filed by North Carolina Trooper M.W. Warren, a UPS truck operated by Antonio Vasco, 34, of Yorktown, Virginia was traveling east on Drum Hill Road Wednesday afternoon around 2:28 p.m.

Vasco’s vehicle allegedly ran the stop sign at Willeyton Road and struck a 2000 GMC pickup truck which was traveling south.

Both vehicles left the Willeyton Road on the east side with the UPS truck striking a cable box and overturning.

According to the report, both vehicles were totaled.

The driver of the pickup truck was Ryan Bundy, 26, of Gates. There were two passengers also in the vehicle n Tracey Bundy, 24, and Kaden Bundy, 4.

Ryan Bundy and Tracey Bundy were taken to Norfolk General where a spokesperson said they were both listed in fair condition.

Vasco was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
