LASKER – Ridgecroft scored 11 runs in two innings as they handed the Northeast Academy Eagles a 17-3 loss here Thursday.

Andy Daughtridge’s single to right field was the first of 16 Rams hits. After stealing second and third he came home on a Neal Howard double.

Dustin Baker’s singlet brought Howard across home plate to give Ridgecroft a 2-0 lead.

The Rams added one run in the second from Brian Outlaw.

In the third, Baker started with a double to centerfield and plated on senior Brian Britton’s double.

Eagle John Pope caught the fly for the first Ridgcroft out, but Outlaw was walked and Josh Lane hit a single, bringing Outlaw home for the 6-0 Rams advantage.

After being held scoreless in the first two innings the Eagles bats found their mark.

Brodie Harrell singled, then designated hitter Arch Harrell hit a single to left field. With two outs, Hunter Deloatch doubled, plating both Harrells. John Pope’s single brought Deloatch home, pulling Northeast within three, 6-3.

The Rams batted through their order in both the fourth and fifth innings, scoring six and five runs respectively.

Northeast couldn’t recover from the deficit and fell, 17-3.

Josh Morris started on the mound for the Rams, pitching the first inning.

Matthew Jones came in on relief and struck out nine batters.

“Matthew did a good job pitching the last four innings,” said Ridgecroft Head Coach Richard Murray.

Baker was 3-for-5 from the batter’s box with two RBI.

Outlaw was 2-for-4 including a three run homer over the fence.

A. Harrell led Northeast, going 2-for-2 from the plate.

The win improves Ridgecroft to 9-1 in the conference and 11-4 overall.
