PLEASANT HILL – A man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into two residences and taking items here, according to Northampton County Sheriff Wardie Vincent.

Kenneth Calvin Morris, 20 of 246 Dickens Wildwood Rd. in Weldon, was arrested following two breaking and entering incidents that took place on April 12 and April 13.

Morris was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and possession of stolen goods for one incident and breaking and entering as well as entry onto real property for another incident.

He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Vincent said Morris was also wanted for probation violations in Halifax County and Pennsylvania.

Morris was arrested after allegedly breaking and entering two residences and taking items, including an undetermined amount of money, two sets of car keys, cell phones, jewelry and “several other items.”

“My officers referenced a breaking and entering and a suspect was developed,” said Vincent.

Vincent said Morris was spotted in the area and attempted to elude the officers.

The Tillery Correctional K-9 Unit was then dispatched to help search for Morris.

Vincent said the K-9 unit, consisting of two Bloodhounds, tracked Morris along Highway 301 near Garysburg where he was eventually apprehended.

Morris’ bond was set at $11,000.

Vincent commended the work of the Tillery Correctional K-9 unit.

“They were very instrumental in the apprehension of Mr. Morris,” he said.

Vincent also thanked citizens who provided information as to the whereabouts of Morris.

The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is also searching for information about another breaking and entering case that occurred on April 7 in which items were taken.

The incident occurred at 162 Timber Hill Court in Gaston at an unoccupied residence that was under constrution at the time.

Vincent said among the items that were taken were a ceiling fan, dining room light, circle saw and bathroom hardware.
