In the second round of the tournament, HCHS met fellow Northeastern Coastal Conference member First Flight and suffered an 8-3 loss.

The Nighthawks claimed their third victory over the Bears this season with the win.

HCHS managed only five hits in the contest while Jacob Dunlow suffered the loss in a complete game performance on the mound.

“Jacob pitched well enough for us to win,” Hertford County Head Baseball Coach Chris Towell said. “We just didn’t make the defensive plays behind him.”

In Wednesday’s third round, the Bears knocked off Roanoke 11-6 to claim third place.

Britt led the Bears with three hits and three RBIs while Latrael Ashe had two hits, including a double, and recorded two RBIs.
