John L. Jacobs

PATERSON, NJ n John Lee Jacobs, 50, a native of Northampton County, died March 17, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital, Paterson.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Rich Square, by the Rev. Harvey Smallwood. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wilder’s Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.

Jacobs retired from Sprinkle Systems, Little Falks, NJ. He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sisters, Alice Jacobs of Paterson, Brenda Jacobs of Rich Square and Fannie Bush of Harrisburg, Pa.; and his brothers, Thomas Jacobs of Paterson, Charles Jacobs of Raleigh and Tracey Jacobs of Rich Square.

James Heckstall

MERRY HILL n James Loyd Heckstall, 89, died March 18, 2007 at Chowan Hospital, Edenton.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peterson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Merry Hill. A visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Gilliam Funeral Home, Windsor. Burial will be in Peterson Chapel Church Cemetery, Merry Hill.

Annie E. Weathers

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Annie Elaine Weathers, 58, a native of Wilson County, died March 20, 2007 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg.

She was employed by Pilgrims Pride as a deboner.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Hall of Gatesville; six brothers, Allen Jones of NJ, Larry Jones and Joe Coleman, both of Greenville, Ronald Coleman of Sussex, VA, Kenneth Coleman of South Carolina and James Jones of Hampton, VA; four sisters, Sharon Coleman, Sylvia Hines and Diane Harrell, all of Greenville and Karen Coleman of Newport News, VA; and three grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Wynn’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church by Bishop Thomas Lee. Burial will be in the Hall’s family cemetery, Gatesville.

Henry G. Freeman, Jr.

WATERBURY, CT – Henry G. “Lil Boss” Freeman Jr., 41, a native of Gates County, died March 16, 2007 at his residence.

He was born on January 11, 1966 to Henry G. Freeman and Lois Eure Mizelle in Gates County, NC.

Freeman was a member of Lebanon Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He graduated from Gates County High School.

Survivors include his parents, Henry Freeman Sr. of Gatesville and Lois Mizelle of Ahoskie; one brother, Ricky Freeman of Gatesville; eight sisters, Evelyn Saunders of Gates, Linda Freeman of Gatesville, June Privott of Norfolk, Va., Annette Goulbourne of Waterbury, Della Freeman of Ahoskie, Gloria Freeman of Hampton, Lois Campbell of Winton and MSgt. Gracie Freeman-Lang of Portsmouth; one stepbrother, Derrick Mizelle of Ahoskie; and three stepsisters, Margita Mizelle of Greensboro, Sherrick Mizelle of Aulander and Angela Griffin of Elizabeth City.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lebanon Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Gatesville.
