MURFREESBORO – Molly Eubank attended her last regular meeting of the Murfreesboro Town Council as town administrator on Tuesday.

Mayor Lynn Johnson presented the retiring Eubank with a framed, board approved resolution of appreciation, which described the former town administrator’s dedication to the town of Murfreesboro.

The board also presented a monetary gift and Johnson read from a letter submitted by Tim Wynn, who expressed how Eubank assisted him with everything he needed even if she was busy.

“Molly has always been available to me,” Wynn wrote.

Eubank got to convey her thanks during her last town administrator report to the board.

“I would like to say thank you to the council, both present and past, for their compliments and help,” she said.

Eubank also thanked the Murfreesboro departments and as well as the citizens.

“I don’t have a gavel or baton to pass on,” Eubank joked. “So, I’ll pass on my agenda book over to Mr.

Overton.”

David Overton is serving as interim town administrator as the search for a new town administrator continues.

The board approved Eubank’s retirement on Jan. 9.

Her retirement comes after working for the town for 23 years, first as town clerk and then town administrator.

Eubank said she plans on filling her days with painting and drawing, reading and traveling.

She said she will keep her job as town clerk for Como and still be part of the town’s rescue squad as well as continue with her volunteer work.

“There are so many parts of the job I’ll miss,” said Eubank. “I won’t miss the stress.”

Eubank’s last day was yesterday (Wednesday).
