WINTON – A man already in jail received additional charges Tuesday.

According to Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan, an investigation into incidents which allegedly occurred in December led to the arrest of a Murfreesboro man January 22.

On that day, Hertford County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Will Liverman charged Christopher Wayne Williams, 23, of 107 Lawrence Street, Murfreesboro with first degree statutory sexual offense.

Williams was placed in the Hertford County Jail under a $400,000 secured bond.

Tuesday afternoon, Liverman added additional counts to those Williams was already facing.

Williams is now charged with two additional counts of first degree statutory sexual offense and indecent liberties with a child.

The bond for the additional charges was $300,000, bringing the total bond to $700,000 secured.

According to Vaughan, Liverman’s investigation into the alleged crimes began in January. He commended Liverman on doing a good job investigating the case.
