WINDSOR – Three Bertie County teens are behind bars.

The Windsor Police Department made three arrests as a result of a car breakin spree that occurred July 17, according to Police Chief Rodney Hoggard.

According to the chief, the breakins appear to have started on the northeast end of town on Broad Street. At that location, a Ford Explorer was broken into and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

Three more vehicles were entered on Taylor Street and &uot;rambled through&uot; but nothing was found to be missing.

The last vehicle involved was a 2003 GMC which was stolen from Winwood Drive. The vehicle was later recovered at the intersection of Grabtown Road and Pleasant Oak Road. Windsor Police Officer J.C.Copeland made the discovery on the same day the vehicle was taken.

After an investigation led by Cpl. Richard Morris, three men have been arrested and charged in the incident.

Antonio Bond, 17, of Windsor is under a $100,000 cash bond in the incident while Marlin Smallwood, 18, of Windsor is jailed under a $20,000 secured bond. Also charged in the incident is Renardo Outlaw, 17, of Lewiston. He was jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.
