Naomi Ward

ROCKY MOUNT nNaomi Ward, 77, died June 28, 2006 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, is in charge.

Judith J. Musha

MURFREESBORO -Judith Jahn-Rae Musha, 62, a longtime registered nurse, died at home June 27, 2006, surrounded by family and friends after a brief bout with cancer. Born in Alturas, Calif., she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Katherine Barry Baalman. She was a graduate of Stanford University and worked for the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include her husband, Connie Mack Musha; a daughter, Michele Bryce and husband Joshua of West Linn, Ore.; her brother, Tony Baalman and wife Judy of Talent, Ore.; and one grandchild, Zander Marthaller.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date and the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Como Volunteer Rescue Squad, Como, NC 27818. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is assisting the family.

Isaac Parker

KELFORD – Isaac “Bud” Parker, 79, a native of Bertie County, died June 28, 2006 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Parker retired from the US Army following some 20 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Alice P. Parker of the home, five daughters, Margaret Ann of Wyoming, Carol Talbott of Louisville, KY, Cindy Baker of Hepzibah, GA, Barbara Ann Bristow of Farmville and Hazel Jean Romans of Louisville, KY; one son, Chris Parker of Pekin, IN; five sisters, Betty Joyner of Williamsburg, VA, Shirley Askew and Deanna Bunch, both of Eure, Sylvia Lee of Whaleyville and Mamie Ellen White of Windsor; three brothers, George Parker of Roduco, Frank Parker of Canitullo, TX and Tommy Harrell of Kelford; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was conducted at the Chapel of Sykes Funeral Service in Rich Square. Interment, with military honors will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery in Roxobel by the Rev. Henry Boschen. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the American Cancer Society,

Roosevelt Ridley

CONWAY n Roosevelt “ Rosey” Ridley, died June 29, 2006 at his residence.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Severn First Baptist Church by the Rev. Douglas Wilson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Survivors include his wife, Emma H. Ridley of Suffolk, Va.; one son, Geoffrey Ridley of Suffolk; two daughters, Joyce Ridley Lewis and Tara Ridley Smith, both of Newport News; two stepsons, Darwin and Steven Hodges, both of Suffolk; four brothers, Horace Ridley of Murfreesboro, Charlie Ridley of Ahoskie, Chester Ridley of Conway and Connell Brunner of Como; one sister, Dorothy Taylor of Conway; and seven grandchildren.

Rebecca B. Edwards

Manns Harbor – Rebecca Briley Edwards, 57, died on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at her residence. Ms. Edwards was born in Washington, NC and was a Registered Nurse. She attended the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and was

a member of the Rehobeth United Methodist Church in Jackson, NC. Ms. Edwards was the daughter of the late David Clifton Briley, Sr. and the late Mildred Taylor Briley.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandy Proctor and husband Michael of Manns Harbor; one son, Josh Edwards and wife Wendy of Ahoskie; two sisters, Peggy Stocks of Wendell and Ann Grimes of Ayden; one brother, David C. Briley, Jr. of Chocowinity; and four grandchildren, Justin Christopher Lewter, Joseph Braxton Lewter, Brantley Warren Edwards and Baylor Bryant Edwards.

A memorial service will be held at the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 2nd

at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Bettie Francis officiating.

Frances B. Mitchell

GATESVILLE n Frances Belanga Mitchell, a native of Creswell, died June 30, 2006 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Gatesville Baptist Church by the Rev. Gene Asbill. Burial will be in Gatesville Cemetery. Friends may join the family Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Miller Funeral Home and all other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Gatesville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 167, Gatesville, NC 27938.

Mrs. Mitchell was retired as supervisor of the Gates County Board of Elections.

Survivors include her husband, William P. “Billy” Mitchell; her sons, Jeff Mitchell of Elizabeth City and Greg Mitchell of Durham; her sister, Norma McCartney of Yorktown, Va.; her brother, Paul Belanga of Ashburn; and four grandchildren.

William “Bill” Davis

WAKE FOREST n William Caiello Davis, 53, of 4932 Upchurch Lane, died Friday, June 30, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Harnett County, and was employed at Applied Systems Technology as a Senior Project Manager. Mr. Davis was a member of Wake Forest United Methodist Church and a Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, July 2, 2006 at Wake Forest United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gayla Collins and the Rev. Helen Champion officiating.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Karen M. Herbin-Davis, son, Hunter Morgan Davis of Raleigh; stepbrother, Mike Davis of Virginia; half-brothers, Steven Caiello of California and Donald Caiello; half-sisters, Diane Caiello and Sandy O’Neill, all of New York; mother, Bonnie S. Storey of Roanoke Rapids; father and mother, William and Mary Caiello of New York; mother-in-law, Brownie Morgan Herbin of Murfreesboro; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robin and Richard Arning of Gibsonville.
