AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie Recreation Department’s summer baseball and softball leagues have come to a close.

Stoney Creek – 21, Cooper-Melton – 11

Stoney Creek took the Little League championship with a 21-11 win over Cooper-Melton Bud Lines June 30.

Marvin Harrell picked up the pitching victory with seven strikeouts in three innings on the mound.

Offensively, Stoney Creek was led by a 3-for-4 performance from Daniel Merritt. Joey Carroll was 2-for-3 with a grandslam homerun for Stoney Creek. Marvin Harrell and Brock Merritt were each 1-for-3.

Tyler Pryor hit his league-leading fifth homerun in the loss for Cooper-Melton. He was 3-for-3 with two doubles and nine RBIs.

Jake Krieg was also 3-for-3 for Cooper-Melton.

Rotary – 6, Mid-East – 2

Rotary took a Midget League win over Mid-East here July 3 by scoring two runs in each in the first, second and fourth innings.

Ackerman Grace led the team with a 3-for-4 performance that included a homerun. Logan Jenkins was 3-for-3 while Ryan Weaver was 2-for-3.

Matthew Judge, Austin Hoggard and Eric Ortiz were each 1-for-3 on the day.

Kiwanis – 4, Integrated Family Service – 0

Kiwanis used three runs in the fourth inning to go to 11-0 on the season with a 4-0 win over Integrated Family Services.

Landon Larabee led the Kiwanis squad with a 2-for-2 day at the plate. Hennie Larabee, Bryan Merritt and Bobby Merritt were each 1-for-2.
