Mary E. Seago

GREENVILLE n Mary Elizabeth Parker Seago, 89, died February 26, 2006. She was the widow of Stanley Seago.

The funeral service was conducted Wednesday in the Wilkerson Funeral chapel. Graveside services followed in the Potecasi Baptist church cemetery near Woodland. Wilkerson Funeral Home was in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 930-B Wellness Drive, Greenville, NC 27834; or Immanuel Baptist Church, 1101 S. Elm Street, Greenville, NC 27858.

Mrs. Seago taught English in high schools of North Carolina and Virginia for several years. At the time of her retirement in 1980, she was a supervisor in the N.C. State Department of Social Security Disability. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley Eugene Seago of Winterville and Stephen Parker Seago of Orangeburg, SC; a brother, Cola Harrell Parker of Woodland; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Gladys W. Perry

AHOSKIE n Gladys Wynn Perry, died February 25, 2006 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Matthew Silver. Burial will be in the Wynn family cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Mrs. Perry was a member of Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Wilbert Perry of Pikeville, Md., and Willie Perry of New Bern; one daughter, Deborah Walton of Ahoskie; one sister, Shirley Words of Oxen Hill; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Larry W. Davis

WINDSOR n Mr. Larry Wayne Davis, age 54, of Windsor, NC, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC.

Mr. Davis was born Feb. 20, 1952 in Bertie County, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Rupert Earl Davis and an infant brother. He was a truck driver for many years and had served his country in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his mother, Nancy Johnson Davis of Windsor, NC; his brothers, Earl Davis of Burley, Idaho, Jerry Davis of Windsor, NC and Kenny Ray Davis of Buffalo Gap, Texas; also a sister, Judy Conner of Windsor; three nieces, four nephews and two grand nephews.

Graveside services will be held, Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor, NC with the Rev. J.N. Baggett officiating.

The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 128 Rupert Earl Road, Windsor, NC.

Rufus Barnes

WEYMOUTH, Mass. n Rufus Barnes, a native of Northampton County, and formerly of George, died February 11, 2006.

A funeral mass was held at St. Brendan Church in Dorchester, Mass., on February 15, 2006. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Barnes was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Gilda Buccini Barnes; his children, Derek Barnes, John Barnes and Debra Barnes; a sister, Ann Barnes Drake of Lasker; and 10 grandchildren.

Belle S. Brickhouse

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Belle S. Brickhouse, 88, a native of Scranton, died February 26, 2006, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home in Avon, Ohio. She was the widow of Roy Brickhouse.

Mrs. Brickhouse was a homemaker. She was a member of Parkway Temple in Chesapeake and had attended Sheffield Lake United Church of Christ in Sheffield Lake.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley T. Naylor of Sheffield Lake, Nettie M. Daidone of Shiloh and Cora B. Brickhouse of Gates; two sons, Coley R. Brickhouse of Tyner and Carlton &uot;Ray&uot; Brickhouse of Chesapeake; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edgar Lee Sadler of Edenton.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ernest Trueblood. Burial will be in the Rosewood Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, is in charge.

Jimmy Majette

RICH SQUARE n Jimmy Majette, 53, a native of Halifax County, died February 28, 2006 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006 at Cumbo Chapel Baptist Church, Rich Square, by the Rev. Carroll Dickens. Burial will be in the Grant family cemetery, Milwaukee. A viewing will be held from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hertford County Undertakers Chapel, Winton, N.C. (416 South Main St.)

Survivors include his daughter, Ta-Tenesha Z. Majette of Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Jimmy Majette of Raleigh, N.C.; his mother and father, George and Alberta V. Majette of Rich Square, N.C.; four sisters, Hattie Milo of Washington, D.C., Dorothy M. Clark of Alexandria, Va., Mildred D. Smith of Zebulon, N.C. and Jocelyn Majette of Maryland; four brothers, Larry Majette of Rich Square, N.C., Carry A. Majette of Raleigh, N.C., Reggie L. Majette of Durham, N.C.,

and Andrew Love of Maryland; and two grandchildren.

Juanita E. Vaughan

MURFREESBORO n Juanita E. Vaughan, 92, a native of Northampton County, died February 28, 2006 at her home.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Menola Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnnie Speller. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hertford County Undertakers, Chapel, Winton.

Survivors include one son, Ovell Vaughan of Murfreesboro; three daughters, Arlethia Rogers of Glen Allen, Va., Pecolia Vaughan of Jamaica, NY, and Shirley D. Vaughan of Norwalk, CT; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Rufus Outlaw

COLERAIN – Rufus Outlaw, 54, a native of Bertie County, died February 26, 2006.

Outlaw was a member of Greater Wynn’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He was a truck driver for Inner Spring Truck Line.

Survivors include one daughter, Octavia Bullock of Greensboro; his mother, Mary Outlaw of Colerain; one brother, Larry D. Outlaw of Colerain; one sister, Lizzie Lloyd of Cofield; and one grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greater Wynn’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Colerain, by Bishop Thomas Lee. Hunter’s Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie is in charge.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. n Jerry Carr, 31, formerly of Weldon, died February 24, 2006 at his residence.

William B. Goodman

SUNBURY n William Boone Goodman, 56, a native of Gates County, died February 26, 2006 at Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church, Corapeake, by the Rev. William S. Norman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased. Stallings Funeral Chapel, Gatesville, is in charge.

Goodman was retired from Dossert Corporation, Waterbury, CT, after 27 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Cooper Goodman of the home; three sons, Claude David Goodman and William Edward Goodman, both of Waterbury and Lamont Franco Cooper of Temple, Texas; six sisters, Thelma Petty of Suitland, Md., Elise Jones of Washington, D.C., Hilda Jackson of Richmond, Va., Hattie Mary Ralph, Linda Bowen and Frances Minsfield, all of Waterbury; and seven grandchildren.

Tommie Mizell

BALTIMORE, Md. — Tommie Lewis Mizell, 57, a native of Galatia, died February 26, 2006 at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Mizell of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Veronica Moore and Sharita Womack, both of Baltimore, Md.; one son-in-law, Lawrence Womack of Baltimore, Md.; four brothers; three sisters; and three grandchildren.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Severn by the Rev. E. Barnes will be officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday.
