Ahoskie BE nets three arrests

AHOSKIE – The Hertford County Sheriff’s office arrested three suspects accused of breaking into an Ahoskie’s man’s home and stealing 13 firearms.

“On January 12 at approximately 10:15 p.m. the Sheriff’s office received a call that a breaking and entering occurred at Joel Early’s house on 414 Early Station Road in Ahoskie,” Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan said.

Following an investigation by Lt. Marty Davis, the Sheriff’s office arrested three individuals on January 14 and recovered 11 of the 13 stolen firearms.

Heather Early Lane, 30, and Jimmie Wayne Carroll Jr., 19, both of 409 Early Station Road, Ahoskie, and Danny Lee Taylor, 23, of 904 NC 561 West, Aulander, were arrested.

Each was charged with one count of breaking and entering and 13 counts of larceny of a firearm. Each suspect is being held under a $134,000 secured bond in the Hertford County jail.

The victim was out of town when the break-in occurred Sheriff Vaughan said.

“I want to thank Lt. Marty Davis, Sergeant Will Liverman, Lt. Mike Stephenson, Deputy Matt Bradley and Deputy Dexter Hayes for a job well done and their rapid response in the case,” Vaughan said.
