JACKSON – A 40-year-old Jackson man is behind bars for allegedly delivering crack cocaine on his moped.

According to Captain George Reed of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, he and Agent L. Clemmons responded to a residence on the Jackson Bypass Road in reference to complaints of people selling drugs.

Reed said Bobby Gene Mason was riding a moped and was stopped. A search of his person revealed 29 hits of cocaine and a small amount of U.S. currency, Reed said.

Mason was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a vehicle, place or dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Northampton County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond awaiting his first appearance on Monday.
