Lloyd A. Eure

EURE – Lloyd Alvin Eure, 77, a native of Gates County, died October 19, 2005 in Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA. He was the widower of Frances C. Eure.

Eure was a member of Eure Christian Church.

He was a retired farmer, a member of the Gatesville Ruritan Club, the Gates County Hunt Club and the White Oak Hunt Club.

Survivors include his daughters, Dawn Eure of Edenton and LuLu Eure of Eure; and a sister, Celia Foutz of Eure.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eure Christian Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Wayne Gardner and Rev. Mike Brinkley.

Hannah Hill

COMO n Hannah Hill, died October 18, 2005 at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Va.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Como, by the Rev. Elliot Hill. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia H. Chappell and Phyllis H. Madric, both of Como; one brother, Calvins Cowper of Lanham, Md.; and one sister, Hester M. Windsor of Suffolk.

Shelia M. Chamblee

AHOSKIE n Shelia Marietta Chamblee, died October 19, 2005 at her residence.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Carpenter Shop Church, Ahoskie. Burial will be in the Chamblee family cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is in charge.

Survivors include her mother, two brothers, Grady O. Chamblee of Ahoskie and Timothy M. Younger of Hampton, Va.; and four sisters, Evelyn Howard, Brenda Sessoms, Celestine Vaughan and Patrice Chamblee, all of Ahoskie.

Georgia Phillips

RICH SQUARE – Georgia Phillips, a native of Rich Square, died October 16, 2005.

Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of W.S. Creecy High School.

Survivors include her husband, Thurman Phillips Sr.; two daughters, Gwendolyn Phillips and Patricia Ann Phillips, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Thurman Phillips Jr. and DeAlvin Phillips of Orange, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A life celebration service will be held at Branches Chapel Church, Rich Square, Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Davis. Burial will be in the Mitchell Family Church Cemetery, Rich Square. J.T. Gordon Walker

ELIZABETH CITY – Gordon Walker, 77, died October 18, 2005.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Sunbury. Stallings Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, is in charge.

Lillian H. Ricks

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Lillian Holley Ricks, 91, a native of Colerain, died October 17, 2005, at Maryview Bon Secours Nursing Center, Suffolk. She was the widow of Wilbert Ricks Sr.

Mrs. Ricks was a member of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth. She was a member of the Deaconess Board, Missionary Board and the Cottage Prayer Band.

Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Randolph-King of Roanoke; one stepdaughter, Virginia Stevenson of Portsmouth; four sons, Wilbert Ricks Jr. of New York City, Earl Ricks of Richmond, Va., Ronald Ricks of Suffolk and Donald Ricks of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at Noble Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Serenity/Steele-Bullock Funeral Home is in charge.

James A. Attkisson Jr.

GARYSBURG n James M. Attkisson Jr., 99, died October 11, 2005.

A graveside will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday in Garysburg United church cemetery. Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, is in charge.
