Hettie Lassiter

CONWAY n Hettie Bottoms Lassiter, 82, a native of Northampton County, died September 11, 2005 in Guardian Care of Roanoke Rapids. She was the widow of Worth E. "Billy" Lassiter.

A funeral was conducted Tuesday at Conway United Methodist Church by the Rev. -Lindsey Green and the Rev. John Butson. Burial was in the Town of Conway Cemetery. Anyone wishing to share a memorial gift may do so to the church, P.O. Box 326, Conway, NC 27820, to the American Cancer Society, or to the American Diabetes Foundation. Please call the funeral home for addresses. Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc., Conway, was in charge.

Mrs. Lassiter was a homemaker, and an active member of Conway United Methodist Church serving as Church Secretary, teaching Sunday school classes, and participating in the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include one son, Jerry L. Lassiter of Littleton; one daughter, Jo Ann Finch of Raleigh; and two grandsons.

Willie S. Lucas

RICH SQUARE n Willie Scott Lucas, 95, died September 10, 2005.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Willow Oak Baptist Church by the Rev. James Baker. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Smith-Whidbee Funeral Home, Rich Square, is in charge.

Carol L. Richardson

MURFREESBORO n Carol Lillie Richardson, died September 11, 2005 at her residence.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Kingdom Hall.. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge of arrangements.

She was a member of Woodland Kingdom Hall.

Survivors include three sons, Russ Richardson of Hamstead, NY, Donald Richardson of Alfaretta, Ga., and Michael Richardson of Murfreesboro; one daughter, Yvette Richardson of Murfreesboro; and 11 grandchildren.

Doretha D. Emory

AHOSKIE n Doretha Duck Emory, died September 10, 2005 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 12 noon Friday at Evening Light COGICJ in Windsor by Overseer Luther Cherry. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Ahoskie. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Mrs. Emory was a member of Evening Light COGICJ.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Emory and John L. Emory, both of Ahoskie; nine daughters, Shirley Reynolds, Barbara Parker, Channie Lloyd and Merdise Moore, all of Ahoskie, Marie Thompson of Raleigh, Ida Carter of Conway, Carolyn Morgan of Rosell, NJ, Linda Robinson of Garner and Nancy Marlowe of Murfreesboro; 32 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Helen W. Perry

RICH SQUARE n Helen Wiggins Perry, 87, a native of Hertford County, died September 12, 2005 at her residence.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mill Branch Baptist Church, Aulander, by the Rev. Rodney Rowland. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wilder's Funeral Home, Inc., Aulander, is in charge.

Survivors include her sons, Bishop William McCoy Perry of Pennsuake, NJ and Elder Theodore Perry of Camden; daughters, Mary Robertson of Plainsfield, NY, Roberta Bennett of Rochester and Carolyn Jacobs of Rich Square; brothers, Edward Wiggins of Elizabeth City, Melvin Wiggins of Ahoskie, Sidney Wiggins of Aulander and Roger Lee Wiggins of Baltimore, Md.; and sisters, Inez Mason of Baltimore and Annie Lou Wiggins of Brooklyn.

Elvin P. Hall

AULANDER – Elvin &uot;Peter Rabbit&uot; Pete Hall, 63, died September 11, 2005 at the Medical College of Georgia.

He was a native of Bertie County, the son of the late Claude P. and Elma Rogerson Hall, and was predeceased by a brother Kenny Hall, a member of Aulander Baptist Church, an Army Veteran having served three tours in Vietnam, and was 100% disabled.

Surviving are two sisters; Claudette Harris, Hephzibah, Ga., and Sandra Gange, Aulander, N.C., four brothers; Ray Hall and Danny Hall, both of Aulander, N.C., Charles Hale, Eure, N.C., and Jimmy Hall, Winton, N.C.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Garrett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jimmy Ward officiating, burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 P.M.

Friday, September 16, 2005, and will assemble at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Saturday prior to services.

Sandra Banks

ROANOKE RAPIDS n Sandra Huff Banks, 63, died September 7, 2005 at Sun Coast Hospital, Largo, Fla.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home by the Rev. John Rooks. Interment will be in the Huff family cemetery, Henrico. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
