McEachin is Player of Week

TIFFIN, OH – Chowan College junior linebacker Shatae McEachin has been named the Independent Football Alliance’s Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Braves to a 16-13 win over Randolph-Macon College this past Saturday.

McEachin, a native of Colonial Heights, Virginia, led all tacklers on the day with 12 total tackles – seven unassisted and five assisted. He also had two tackles for a loss of five yards in the win.

The IFA is a group of NCAA Division II Independent football programs with home offices on the campus of Tiffin University in Ohio. Other schools in the IFA include Tiffin University, North Greenville College, Central State University, Upper Iowa University, Missouri-Rolla College, Western New Mexico State, St. Joseph’s, Oklahoma Panhandle University, and Lincoln University. Voting for player of the week is coordinated by the IFA’s sports information director.

McEachin and the Braves travel to UVA-Wise this Saturday for a 1:30pm kick off.
