AHOSKIE – A portion of U.S. 13 just south of Ahoskie will close for one day next week for repairs.

Crews with the North Carolina Department of Transportation will hopefully have the work completed in one day.

U.S. 13 between its intersection with NC 561 (Harrellsville highway) and the D.T. Road (S.R. 1419 near the old Stoney Creek Mobile Home Park) will be closed from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23 until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24.

The closure is necessary for cross-line replacement in conjunction with a curb and gutter project, which is currently in progress on U.S. 13.

The exact location of the cross line replacement is between Swain's Tile & Floor and Freeman Metal Products.

North-south traffic on U.S. 13 can detour on NC 561 and the D.T. Road.
