Jack Vaughan Jr.

MURFREESBORO n Jack E. Vaughan Jr., 76, a native of Hertford County, died July 28, 2005 at Sentara Norfolk General.

A funeral was conducted at 12 noon Monday at Nebo Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Holloman. Burial was in the Vaughan family cemetery, Murfreesboro. Hertford County Undertakers, Winton, was in charge.

Survivors include his children, Nelson Vaughan of Hampton, Va., Jack E. Vaughan III and Linda Bishop, both of Murfreesboro, Ricky Vaughan and Cynthia V. Sawyer, both of Ahoskie, Larry Vaughan of Franklin and Jeana V. Boone of Newport News; four sisters, Blondell Davis of Philadelphia, Pa., Frances Stephenson of New Jersey, Ruby Reagin and Alberta Majette, both of Rich Square; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Joseph C. Harrell

WINDSOR n Joseph Clayton Harrell, died July 27, 2005 at Bertie Memorial Hospital, Windsor.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Refreshing Center Church of God in Christ, Windsor. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Ahoskie. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge.

Harrell was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Kevin Jarrod Harrell of Durham; three brothers, Clarence Cooper of Williamston, William L. Harrell Jr. and Julius M. Harrell, both of Windsor; and three sisters, Annie Bertha Phillips and Loretta H. Barrett, both of Windsor and Beverly R. Godfrey of Elizabeth City.

Josephine Beverly "Joe" Winborne

HARRELLSVILLE n Josephine Beverly "Joe" Winborne, died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at her residence. She was the widow of the late Leonard James "Lynn" Winborne.

Mrs. Winborne was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Linwood Lee Winborne and wife Lois of Edenton, NC, and Joseph Leon Winborne of Harrellsville, NC; five daughters, Hazel W. Cole and husband, David of Harrellsville, NC, Josie Mae Brothers of Hartford, Conn., Margaret Ann Manley and husband, Oscar of Winton, NC, Brenda Gail Parker of Ahoskie, NC, and Virginia Diane Coleman of Jackson, NC; two brothers, Lonnie Beverly of Harrellsville, NC, and Stanley Beverly of Baltimore, Md.; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Harrellsville, by the Rev. Robert Lewis. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Reynolds Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, is in charge of arrangements.
