AHOSKIE — How cute is your pet?

Time is running out to enter your pet in the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald's Pet Contest. Each entry must be received by 5 p.m. on August 1. Pictures should be brought to the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald, 801 Parker Avenue, Ahoskie.

All photos for the entries will run in the Thursday, August 4 edition of the R-C News-Herald.

The entries must include the pet's name and the owner's name, address, and daytime phone number. Participants may enter as many pets as they like.

Winners from each category will be required to bring their pet to the R-C News-Herald Office for a photo.

The winner from each category will receive a $25 gift certificate from Red Barn Farms, $10 gift certificate from Advance Auto Parts in Ahoskie, a four month subscription to the Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald, and $25 in cash.

Each winner will also be able to choose two more prizes from

following list: one wellness visit to the Powellsville Pet Clinic, the Ahoskie Animal Hospital or the Gates County Animal Clinic, a $10 gift certificate from Lowe's Food in Ahoskie, shampoo and flea/tick Spray from Brinkley's Hardware in Gates, 50% grooming discount from Barks N' Bubbles in Ahoskie and a $25 gift certificate from Southern States in Ahoskie.
