AHOSKIE – Hertford County will begin their quest for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 3-A championship on August 19.

On that date the football Bears will travel to 3-A counterpart Kinston for a non-conference outing.

Following that date, the Bears will continue their road trip with a date at Wilson’s Fike High School on August 27.

The home opener for Greg Watford’s club will come a week later when they host Washington.

That game is but a brief respite, as the HCHS squad will hit the road again a week later as they travel to Northern Nash High School.

Hertford County closes out their non-league schedule on September 16 when they host 4-A eastern finalist Rocky Mount.

Northeastern Coastal Conference play begins a week later when Hertford County travels to Northeastern for their fourth away game in six weeks.

They return to the friendly confines of Bear Stadium the next week when they meet Edenton-Holmes. HCHS will have back-to-back games at home for the first time all season as they host Currituck October 7.

October 14 will see Hertford County on the road to Elizabeth City where they will meet Pasquotank County High School.

Following a bye week, HCHS will travel to First Flight on October 28.

The annual Backyard Brawl with Bertie will be November 4 when the Bears host the rival Falcons.
