Jurdy Crump

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY n Jurdy M. Harvey Crump, 66, a native of Northampton County, died May 29, 2005 at Victory Lake Nursing Home, Hyde Park.

A funeral was conducted Sunday at Willow Oak AME Church by the Rev. James Baker. Burial was in the church cemetery. Hunter's Funeral Home, Inc., Ahoskie, was in charge.

Crump was employed with Hudson River Psychiatric Center in the food service department. He was a member of Willow Oak AME Church.

Survivors include his sisters, Lois Harvey Jones of Tacoma, Wash., and Flora Harvey DeLoatche of Poughkeepsie; and a brother, William Williams of Gouvenour, NY.

Helen H. Stephenson

JACKSON – Helen Hasty Stephenson, 78, a native of Roanoke Rapids, died June 4, 2005, at Wake Med Cary Hospital.

She was employed by Roanoke Mills Co. as secretary to W.L. Medlin. She worked for the ASCS office in Jackson as secretary and the superintendent of schools as secretary to R.F. Lowry. She was a member of Jackson Baptist Church since 1950 and was a member of the choir. She also taught Sunday school, was the WMU director, a deaconess, secretary for Board of Deacons, church clerk and served on the Communion Board. She was a charter member of the Jackson Woman’s Club and was grand marshal for their 2003 Christian Parade. She was employed by Bank of Northampton, Peoples Bank and Centura Bank for more than 20 years and retired as assistant vice president in 1989. She married Tommie Stephenson in 1948.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Kent Stephenson of Franklin, Va., Kim Stephenson Miller of Raleigh, and Thomas Alexander &uot;Al&uot; Stephenson Jr. of Fuquay-Varina; two brothers, Dr. Lewis B. Hasty of Peachtree City, Ga., and Dr. Charles R. Hasty of Edisto Beach, S.C.; a sister, Jean Hasty Hodges of Rocky Mount; and six grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Jackson Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jackson Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Massey Funeral Home, Jackson, is in charge.

F. Edmond White

HOBBSVILLE – F. Edmond White, 77, a native of Suffolk, Va., died June 5, 2005, in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City.

White was a retired maintenance supervisor for Gates and Perquimans counties with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and a member and deacon of Warwick Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Delsie Winslow White; his daughter, Gloria W. Stallings of Belvidere; his sister, Bernice Whiteside of Leavenworth, Kan.; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Warwick Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Charles Jones. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence.

Pauline R. Holland

SUFFOLK, Va. – Pauline Russell Holland, 80, a native of Nansemond County, Va., died June 4, 2005, at Obici Hospital. She was the widow of James Edward Holland.

Mrs. Holland was retired from Birdsong Peanuts as a picker.

Survivors include her daughter, Frances Ann Harvell of Corapeake; sisters, Nettie Sue Lassiter and Florence Bramon, both of Suffolk; brothers, Willie Lee Russell of Franklin and Jack Russell of Columbia; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Anna B. Daniels

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Anna Fraulien Boone "mom Lien" Daniels, 90, a native of Woodland, died May 29, 2005, at home.

Mrs. Daniels retired farmer and housekeeper after 50 years of service.

Survivors include three daughters, Doris Carlien Daniels of Washington, D.C., Barbara McGlohone and Helen Louise Daniels-Thomas, both of Virginia; one sister, Cleo Maggie Edwards; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren.

A funeral was conducted Sunday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Woodland, by the Rev. Rochelle Edwards. Interment was at the church cemetery. Beach Funeral Services Inc., was in charge.
