WINDSOR – Looking for a deal? Then Windsor may be the place to be this weekend.

The Bertie Board of Commissioners have approved a contract with Bill Forbes and Associates of Creswell to conduct an auction of real and personal property currently owned by the County of Bertie.

That auction will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the old county jail, located off US 13/17 on County Farm Road.

Reserve or minimum bids will be received on 18 tracts of county owned property. The highest bidder is required to place a 10 percent deposit, but the sale does not become final until the auctioneer reports the results to the County Commissioners, who reserve the right to accept or reject any bid.

County-owned personal property (vehicles, computers, office furniture, etc) will also be put on the auction block on the same date. All sales are considered final and the winning bidder is required to pay in full on the day of the sale.
