MERRY HILL – Ridgecroft’s Hayes Bryant scored two second half goals to secure a 4-0 victory over the hometown Lawrence Academy Warriors here Thursday afternoon.

The Rams’ Landis Joyner struck first when her shot off the left foot found the back of the net for the early 1-0 lead.

Minutes later it was teammate Brittany Taylor who netted off the slow roller to the bottom corner post.

Her goal in the thirtieth minute of play extended the advantage to 2-nill.

The Warriors continued to attack goal as well but were unable to find the back of the net, despite some unexpected help from their goalkeeper.

Jane Perry, last year’s team MVP and starting keeper got a break from goal and moved up to striker.

The adjustment moved junior Carolyn Finnerty into goal and Perry into scoring position.

The Rams were unable to capitalize however and went into halftime down 2-0.

The Warriors, with Perry still playing forward came out of the break much more aggressive.

Perry led the charge spending the first five minutes of the second half attacking Ridgecroft goal.

Once again the Rams defense came up huge denying all Lawrence scoring opportunities.

Instead it was the Rams that continued to score.

This time it was Bryant who netted from about fifteen yards out when she sent a bullet of a shot to the bottom right corner of goal.

She followed that with another bullet 15 minutes later that found the back of the net.

This proved to be the final goal of the match and sealed the 4-0 Rams victory.

Despite the loss Warriors head coach Chris Rahilly was pleased with some aspects of his teams play.

&uot;I think Jane (Perry) did a tremendous job given that it was her first time playing up front,&uot; the coach said.

&uot;We communicated well and passed well, two things I stressed before the match,&uot; added Rahilly.

Rams assistant coach Becky Johnson was also pleased with her squads play.

&uot;Everyone played their positions very well,&uot; Johnson said.

&uot;We communicated well and the subs played very aggressively.&uot;
