GARYSBURG – A Garysburg woman faces criminal charges after allegedly shooting her husband.

Thirty-three year old Angela Davis-Lesane of South Scott Drive in Garysburg was arrested March 6 and placed under a $30,000 secured bond at the Northampton County Jail for what police believe to be a domestic dispute turned violent.

The dispute, which resulted in Terrance Lesane, 39, of Garner Drive in Garysburg being shot in the upper portion of his right leg and subsequently taken to Halifax Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries, occurred on February 1.

&uot;During the course of the investigation, we learned the couple was separated, giving credence to possibility of the situation being domestic,&uot; said Detective Brenda Burnette of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

She added that Lesane believed he was shot with what appeared to be an automatic handgun, though the weapon has not yet been retrieved.

The victim’s wife is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and intent to kill inflicting serious injury and had her first court appearance March 7.

Burnette also stated that while Davis-Lesane was incarcerated, she was served with another warrant from Nash County for threatening phone calls, adding another secured bond of $500.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for March 14.
