ACS sweeps Calvary

LOUISBURG – Break out the brooms.

Ahoskie Christian School scored a clean sweep of Calvary Christian School here Friday night.

The win by the Warriors and Lady Warriors marked the second time in three years that ACS was able to sweep a varsity opponent.

In the first game of the evening, the ACS Lady Warriors jumped out to a 28-3 lead at the intermission and never looked back.

Ahoskie grabbed a 55-11 victory over Calvary thanks in large part to sophomore Ashley Fountain’s school-record 30 points. Fountain added 16 rebounds and 10 steals to claim a triple-double for the evening.

Senior Ashley Whitehead established a personal best with 18 points during the contest as the Lady Warriors improved to 4-1 on the young season.

The varsity boys improved to 2-5 on the season thanks to their second victory of late.

Ahoskie knocked off Calvary 41-36 to claim that second victory of the 2004-2005 season.

Jake Dunlow led the way for ACS as he scored 11 points on the evening. Tripp Plaunty added nine on the night while Chris Olson had eight.

Also on the offensive front for the Warriors, Stanton Plaunty had seven points and Omari Mitchell contributed six.

The win raised the ACS record to 2-5.
