Rotary’s Charity Ball, Dec. 4

AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie Rotary Club is holding its first Annual Christmas Charity Ball from 6 to 11 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Ahoskie Inn.

Club President Richard Jernigan said the effort is two-fold. &uot;First of all, this is the perfect opportunity for businesses, large or small, to get together with their employees and employees from other businesses for a ‘big’ Christmas party.

&uot;Employers can purchase tickets and give them as Christmas gifts to their employees or a business can simply choose to purchase tickets for their employees, and let us do the rest,&uot; he said.

&uot; The second purpose behind this event, and what I am most excited about, is that all the proceeds from this event will go to the literacy program and the Ahoskie Library,&uot; Jernigan added.

Tickets are $50 each and the recipient gets a buffet meal, open bar and live entertainment by the Steppin’ Out Band of Ahoskie.

The band, known for it’s renditions of some of the best loved oldies, the hottest new Beach Music and the hippest dance tunes, features a wealth of local talent and versatility to please nearly any age group.
