AHOSKIE – The chances are excellent that the Sylvia Hall family enjoyed a delicious item hot off the grill during Father’s Day weekend.

On Friday, Hall’s name was randomly chosen from well over 1,000 entries in the annual Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald’s Father’s Day promotion. By entering, Hall was the grand prize winner, carrying home a brand new gas grill.

Twelve other local businesses joined with The News-Herald in sponsoring the promotion. At each location, one winner was drawn and was awarded a drill bit set. They were as follows:
