AULANDER – Acting on complaints of Bertie County citizens, an Aulander man was jailed last week on drug charges.

Rahjon Nicky “Ra-Ra” Green, 26, of 314 Canal Street was placed in the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail under a $25,000 cash bond for possession with intent to sell and deliver crack cocaine and sell and delivery of crack cocaine.

An additional $10,000 secured bond was imposed for a probation violation.

According to Detective Sgt. Frank Timberlake of the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, that law enforcement department was working with Aulander Police Chief Jimmy Barmer on investigating complaints that Green was selling crack cocaine. Those complaints came from county citizens living in and around Aulander as well as Powellsville.

An undercover officer was able to purchase crack cocaine from Green, leading to his arrest on the aforementioned charges. That arrest was made June 6 at the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office where Green was being bonded on a probation violation by Bertie County Probation Officers for communicating threats to a law enforcement officer.

According to Timberlake, Green made a threatening remark concerning killing a law enforcement officer.

“While the narcotics investigation had nothing to do with probation investigation, after learning the mind set of Mr. Green it was the opinion that we could not afford to continue the narcotics investigation due to the threatening intent of Mr. Green,” Timberlake said.

Timberlake joined Bertie Sheriff Greg Atkins in thanking the brave citizens of the county for taking a stand against those dealing drugs in their neighborhoods.
