Cherry V. Deloatch

CHESAPEAKE, Va., Cherry V. Deloatch, 69, a native of Northampton County, died December 21, 2003, in her home. She was the widow of Elgen Deloatch.

Mrs. Deloatch was a member of Union Baptist Missionary Church, Shoulders Hill, Suffolk, and member of the Kitchen Ministry.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Majette and Phyllis Deloatch, both of Chesapeake; a son, Elton Deloatch of Suffolk; two sisters, Novella Deloatch of Jackson and Bernice Parker of Seaboard; two brothers, Jarvis Vaughan of Pendleton and Johnnie Vaughan of Trenton, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral was conducted Wednesday in Union Missionary Baptist Church, Shoulders Hill, Suffolk, by Bishop C.V. Russell Sr. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Chesapeake. The family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of floral arrangements. Corprew Funeral Home was in charge.

Jesse Williams

AHOSKIE – Jesse Williams, died December 20, 2003, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel, Ahoskie, by the Rev. H.H. Murrill. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. A wake will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Williams; three sons, Freddy Williams of Rock Island, Ill., Clayton Williams and Scott McPherson, both of New York, N.Y.; two daughters, Tanya Williams of Bronx and Wanda McPherson of New York; a brother, Joe Lewis Dunn of Franklinton; and three sisters, Wilma Johnson and Janette Williams, both of Franklinton and Annete Williams of Alma, N.Y.

Roosevelt Ramsey

JACKSON – Roosevelt Ramsey, died December 20, 2003, at Hampton Woods Nursing Home, Jackson.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. H.D. Pope Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, is in charge.

ROANOKE RAPIDS – David Young, 67, died December 21, 2003, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
