You'd think there would be at least one survey question related to clinical outcome. My mechanic has clean rest rooms, communicates clearly and doesn't make me wait too long. But if he cant fix my automobile, then I need to take it to someone else.
That aside, Congrats to Southampton for being a leader in patient satisfaction.

So they found the plants, determined that the plants were being maintained and fertilized and were nearly ready for harvest. But they didn't apprehend anyone behind this criminal enterprise? My amazement is only surpassed by the above commenters who think this was a fine piece of police work.
Maybe they handcuffed the plants and hauled 'em off to jail. I hope they read read them their rights.

I've known Dwight going back to my highschool days, but primarily got to know him as an officer for the Ahoskie PD. I've always known him to be honest, hardworking, and forthright. With regards to the Gell case, I know that Dwight would never want an innocent man to be convicted. I'll never believe he withheld any exonerating evidence. That accusation must be either a grand miscommunication or an outright fabrication.
Congrats on your retirement Dwight. May you enjoy every day of it.

Somewhere in that wide gray area separating the left from the right there is a reasonable distinction between governmentally provided services that are best funded via user fees and those that are best funded by the general tax base. But getting any significant number of officials to agree on which services fall on which side of the line will always be a challenge. Particularly in these economic times.

Dr. Fahey is to be commended. Not only for bringing some welcome news regarding test scores, but also for his humility, rightly so, on not taking all the credit for the improvement.
Congrats to the hard working HCPS staff and students.

I hope the moral ground the opponents stand on is high enough to overcome the surge of property taxes that will be required to replace the loss in sales tax revenues. Why dont we ban beer, wine and cigarette sales also?
Mobley right. Wray wrong.

Once again our neck of the woods gets the short end of the state's financial stick. God forbid that Raleigh or Charlotte should have to divert funds needed to expand their 6 lane roads to 8 lanes.

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day.
Give a man a badge and he'll eat YOUR fish.

When I traverse through nearly any county west of I-95 I enjoy use of 4-lane highways, under/overpasses, cloverleaf intersections, etc. But not here. We get a few stop-signs and maybe a newfangled flashing caution light. There simply isn't any money to provide good roads to lowly northeastern NC. I recall attending a TIP (transportation improvement plan) meeting at the community college back in the 70's where it was announced with great fanfare that 4-laning US 13 was in the "15 year plan". 15 years has come and gone nearly 3 fold since then. So now they're actually closing a road and calling that progress.
Somewhere, someone on the transportation board is falling down laughing at us.
