BOYKINS, Va. - An elderly couple was found dead Thursday in their home outside of Boykins, according to the Tidewater News.

Investigators discovered the bodies of Edward Lee Everette Sr., 70, and Queen Ester Everette, 71, in their bedroom at their home, located at 18390 Number 8 Schoolhouse Road a little after 12 noon.

The couple apparently died from gunshot wounds. A weapon was recovered at the scene.

Investigators declined to classify the deaths as murder or murder-suicide or give speculation as to motive.
