Lady rams improve to 6 - 4

MURFREESBORO – Ridgecroft School improved to 6-4 for the 2008 campaign Monday.

The Lady Rams’ tennis team defeated Gates County High School for the second time this season thanks to six victories in the singles draw. They added two in doubles to secure the 8-1 win.

Ridgecroft number two Caroline Bowman rolled to a perfect 10-0 win for the Lady Rams. She defeated Ashley Pierce.

Top-seed Tayler Smith also won for the Rams. She beat Gates County’s Morgan Bagley by a count of 10-3. Taylor Futrell continued the winning for Ridgecroft as she ousted Amber Hendrix 10-2.

Number four Erin Riddick topped Morgan Winslow 10-4 and number five Alex Riddick secured a 10-6 win over Kayleigh Evans.

Katie Futrell won the final matchup on the singles side with a 10-2 victory over Alyssa Arnold.

In doubles, Smith and Bowman took a 10-3 win over Denene Hayer and Evans while second ranked T. Futrell and E. Riddick knocked off Bagley and Henrdix 10-0.

Gates County’s lone win came when Winslow and Pierced edged Roxie Daniels and A. Riddick 10-6.
